Make Your Love Handles Disappear – 3 Ab Exercises For Men
Men and women can certainly both do the most of the ab exercises out there. Men have their own problem areas that need extra help though, like the love handles. Yes, the handles we all love to hate!
Read on to discover three great abdominal exercises for men to help you really tone and flatten your stomach. These exercises will not only target your abs and burn fat, but also benefit other areas of your body and your general fitness.
Forget about abs machines: these exercises will really help you to get ripped.
Target the obliques with this exercise
It’s taught in many martial arts and can cause some real damage to the recipient, but it also gives those love handles a beating.
What I’m referring to is the roundhouse kick, as its known in English. If you’ve never been involved in any kicking martial arts this could be a bit of a challenge to do, but with proper stretching it shouldn’t take too long to get your muscles accustomed to the movement. You can simply kick at knee height for a start and gradually work your way up to waist height, which is where you want to be.
The target you should be working towards here for great results is at least 50 kicks in a row with each leg. This exercise will strengthen and tone your body in multiple ways. Make sure your muscles are very loose as it’s easy to injure, for example, your hamstring if you’re not careful.
To shred your midsection
This won’t strictly fall under the category of ab exercises for men as it’s more of a fat burner, but without burning fat you can kiss your abs goodbye anyway.
Sprints remain one of the fastest ways to burn fat. They’re even better if you add resistance by sprinting uphill or through thick sand. Be sure to run with conviction, especially using your arms and shoulders. This natural running motion helps to tone your midsection in addition to the fat burning benefits it provides.
Hanging rotates
This may be a fairly tough exercise depending on your fitness level, so work up to it if you can’t do it right away. Hang suspended with your arms and legs straight on a pullup bar. Turn your lower body to the left at a 45 degree angle. Now raise your knees into your abdomen and swing your lower body all the way round until you’re facing 45 degrees to the right, then lower your legs. Repeat the exercise to the other side.
To add more difficulty to this when it becomes easy, lift your legs straight out in front of you instead of bending your knees.
There you have it – three powerful ab exercises for men, and you don’t even need a gym to do them.
